[ closed ] Pacific cruising from February 2026 Panama to French Polynesia ref 14739
From Panama, Panama to Marquesas, French Polynesia.
January 2026 to January 2026.
We - Simon (68), and Gemma (57) - are on a circumnavigation. We will be leaving Panama heading for the Marquesas Islands next month (February 2026) and are looking for like-minded couples to join us for one, or more, of the various passages of the trip. Crew will be us and one couple for each passage ie. a total of four people - we would prefer a couple but may consider singles. We are looking for enthusiastic people (omnivores without dietary needs please) with sailing experience, who will be confident with night watches. Ocean experience is not necessary. You could join us for one, or multiple passages (not necessarily contiguous). All duties onboard will be shared, as will be the day-to-day costs (though not repairs, which we are responsible for). EVANGELINE is a Moody 46 built in 1999: a cutter rigged, centre cockpit, sloop with a new Volvo Penta D2-75. We've owned her for five years during which time we've sailed summer seasons in the Med (Greece, and Italy mostly), and done an Atlantic circuit with WCC rallies (ARC+ in 2022, and ARC Europe in 2023). Last year we sailed to the Caribbean, the boat is currently in Grenada: we depart for Panama later this month (Jan 2026). Accommodation is a double berth aft, a double berth fwd, and two single bunks aft of the fwd berth. One 'en-suite' head and shower aft, and one head and shower fwd. Although fit for six, a crew of four is most comfortable. Rigging The majority of Evangeline's important gear is less than five years old: - standing and running rigging - steering cables - sails (except spinnaker which is probably original) - communications, AIS, radar - nav gear, instrumentation, and autopilot - liferaft, lifejackets (with MOB1 AIS devices), jackstays, fire extinguishers. Safety equipment We have equipped EVANGELINE to comply with ARC requirements or better. If you're interested I'll send you full specs. Comfort We have a watermaker (daily showers), generator (hot water), and Starlink (fast internet access - though we do try to restrict this to twice daily so it doesn't 'take over'!). Hydrovane wind steering. If you think you might be interested do get in touch, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
