I am a single female, age 68, who loves to sail. I am willing and able to cook, swab decks, coil lines, and clean galleys and heads. I am in excellent health and work out on a regular basis to stay in shape. Most people say I am a fun person and have a good sense of humor. I have been sailing for over 25 years, taken a variety of sailing and boating courses, been active in my local sailing club, and crewed for numerous local races. Additionally, I have been on bare boat cruises in Greece and the British Virgin Islands. In July of 2018, I assisted in my first boat delivery on a trip from Port Canaveral FL to Yarmouth, NS, CA. We experienced storms, high winds, low winds, fog, high seas, low seas, a malfunctioning power system, and a few issues with malfunctioning equipment. As we were on a time schedule, we sailed through the night, and only docked for one night in Nantucket through out the journey. I served as cook, general all around help, night watch, and learned a great deal about navigation. I recently did my second delivery from Spenser Florida (Near West Palm Beach) to Norfolk, VA with a captain and one other crew member. The journey went well with mostly fair weather except for one small squall coming up the Gulf Stream. We succeeded in making the trip in 4 days sailing both at night and during the day. I love to read and can entertain myself during down times. I have never suffered from sea sickness, fear during storms, or panic attacks during stressful situations. | |
