Sailing should be a fun enjoyable experience. As a voyager I’m eager to participate in navigating, route planning and being a Way-finder, it has made me comfortable on a boat and at the helm, and mostly I have felt safe at sea. I’m capable with technology including Radar, AIS, SSB and also have my HAM Radio certification. I’m fine with slinging a line or tossing a fender as well as washing down the boat after a passage and doing bright work or a sail repair when required. I’m comfortable on most boats but have limited experience on a catamaran but understand it’s not the rocking and rolling experience. I’ve been spun around by squalls and taken a few refreshing rogue waves to the face, not my preferred type of sailing but sometimes it happens out there. I quit like the magic of night sailing on passages and observing the planets and stars. I prefer a relaxed Captain that’s calm, communicative, a bit sporty and is respectful of the crew, a captain that keeps his/her boat clean and in tip top shape and even knows the way around a galley as I do and I like to share in good food a cup of wine or beer when in port.
