Experience: 2200 ocean miles / 7000 coastal miles
Thank you for viewing and considering my profile. I have sailed in a meaningful capacity since 1993. My love of sailing began in the Toronto Ontario area. I have sailed for various skippers/captains in various capacities over the years. I am proficient in foredeck operation, wheelsman, heavy weather and overall safe boat handing and operation. I am a licensed Marine Engineer and skipper which has provided me with a good understanding and troubleshooting ability for marine diesels, various ship systems, electrical and electronics. I own and sail my Beneteau 423 and log approximately 800 miles per year. 60% of these miles are within the great lakes (fresh water and the remainder in saltwater (largely coastal). Recent salt water adventure was from St.Martin to Georgia USA. Other runs include St Lucia to Carroacou and return. Various sea states were encountered including a brisk run in 40+ knots (15' seas) from St Lucia to St.Vincent. Apart from 700' freighters, the largest vessel I have sailed is a 63' Deerfoot. This vessel was sailed in Lake Huron as well as in Marsh Harbor Bahamas, as well as delivery through the Welland canal system. Many vesseIs and trips have been omitted from my log attached. I have safely delivered and or sailed various vessels & pride myself with a good safe reliable track record.
