Hi, I am a father of 3 (all adults now), with a partner. I am a mechanical engineer, and I stopped my professional activities at 57 years to dedicate my time to do what I've always enjoy doing, which is volunteer work, teaching, scuba diving, sailing, hiking and camping. I am lucky to be in perfect health, no medical condition, no medication. I keep fit by eating well, exercising and doing many physical activities that I enjoy. I enjoy good food, good wine, good music and good company. I was told many times that I am easygoing and very easy to get along with. I am a Canadian citizen, live 6 months per year in Italy and 6 months per year in Montreal (Canada). I speak French, English and Italian. I am a very calm man, react very well under stressful situations, don't need much sleep and I have never been seasick, although I am fully aware that it will most probably happen one day. I am a very good swimmer. I have advanced sailing certification (skipper) from Sail Canada, as well as CPR and 1st aid up-to-date certification from the Red Cross. My partner sails with me but she does not like long journey, or to be too far from the coast. I own a Dufour 40 Performance 2003. I can do all type of work on sailboats, cars and houses (mechanical, engine, woodwork, electrical, plumbing). I know my sailboat inside out, and I have done many works on it (installing auto pilot system, water maker system, etc.). I have done night sailing, weeklong sailing without going to a marina, a few sailing journey alone, sailed in stormy conditions, etc. I am looking to expand my skills by getting out of my comfort zone and sailing with more knowledgeable and more experienced sailors than myself. Bonne journée ! Have a great day ! Buon giorno ! | |
