I am an enthusiastic skipper seeking to build experience with longer and increasingly challenging passages with the objective to circumnavigate the earth together with my wife within the coming 5 years. In return for having me as an involved and learning member of your team, I actively take part in ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and memorable journey. Besides the required sailing gear, I always carry with me my sense of humor, my engineering pragmatism, and my all-round cooking skills.My next goal is to obtain the Yachtmaster Certificate, for which I am currently learning and training.
In 2016 I obtained my coastal cruising license from US Sailing and in 2023 I also added the Belgium General Sailing & Motoring license to my resume, including ICC ICMS, VHF License, First Aid Certificante, RYA Sea Survival and RYA Yachtmaster Theory Certification. To date I have over 9000 miles of sailing experience,including 2 atlantic crossings as crew (ARC 2023 and return to Europe). As captain I built my miles in the Mediterranean (Croatia, Greece, Italy) in the Caribbean (BVI, Antigua) and in the North Sea (Belgium, The Netherlands).
