I am an RYA YM Instructor, and have taught at various sailing schools over many years. I now enjoy sailing as much for the journey as the destination. Navigation and sail trim are particular skills, as is cooking in bad weather. As a crew I recognise that the skipper's rules and ways of doing things are the basis for a smooth and harminious passage and crew. As a leader I work from the basis of consensus, providing a strong framework for decision making. I have a strong respect for safety but also sail to the capability of the boat and crew rather than the potential of the forecast. I am always a companionable and friendly crew member.
