| I retired at the end of October 2023 and am keen to get some experience of blue water sailing, plus my wife cannot have me at home all the time after I retire. I would like to get enough experience before I take the plunge and get my own boat and head off to do some blue water sailing. I have a Day Skipper (theory and practical) which I have used to charter boats (monohulls and cats) for 2 week summer family cruising holidays in one of Croatia, Greece, Turkey since 2013. I have passed the theory for Coastal and Oceanmaster which I took during Covid lockdown but haven't had time to get the miles in and take the practical I am reasonably fit, have GSH (doesn't everyone ?) and other interests are skiing, cycling, swimming, walking, weights, reading, watching England cricket, England rugby (both) and Man United. | |
