Hi, I'm a New Zealander with a passion for yachting and now living the dream sailing with my family back from Europe to New Zealand on our 2015 Hanse 455 we named Veni Vidi Vixi (I came, I saw, I lived). I've sailed my whole life - growing up sailing with my parents, personally owned several yachts and very active racing in what ever country we've lived in. My best racing years were definitely being part of the crew of Akatea, a Cookson 50 we raced in Auckland, New Zealand. We won loads of races/series in a very competitive fleet (including TP52s). I've been crew on dozens of overnight long distance races. Now, I am behind the wheel of my own yacht and its been a really great experience getting VVV all set up for this voyage home including watermaker, radar, safety equipment, lots of different sails (130% genoa, code 0, furling gennaker, mainsail, all new 2020). VVV has proven to be a fast and comfortable cruiser - easily sailed short-handed with all lines to cockpit and reliable BnG equipment. My family (my wife, twins aged 7yrs and daughter aged 8yrs) have all thoroughly enjoyed cruising VVV since early 2020 and are now super keen to cross their first Ocean!!!
