I have been sailing since I was 8 years old. Getting back to sailing but on bigger boats. Have done 3 multi day (3-10 day) cruises and a new catamaran delivery taking 22 days to complete going across Bay of Biscay and through the Med..... in winter! Done a Round the Isle of Wight race on a 72' Round the World racing yacht, being on the helm for 1½ hours in force 5 winds. Cruises have been Southern Coast and South Wales in the UK. Have experience at coming alongside and departing jetties. I am a hard worker on all aspects of being a crewman (won crewman award on IofW race). No job is turned down that needs doing. I am a good cook with a varied repertoire of meals. I think outside the box for problem solving. Being a builder, I have a lot of skills that I can bring to bare for jobs around the boat and am mechanically minded. Have done my RYA Day Skipper Theory and am building my hours for the Practical. Although my hours and conditions of the sailing I've done, will go a long way to achieving the hours and conditions for Coastal Skipper practical I have a 34' yacht in NZ that needs getting back in the water next year.
