I am an easy going professional with RYA Yachtmaster Offshore cert and love sailing away into the distance. I am therefore most interested in longer passages. I I have completed 6000+nm (mostly offshore), I have a VHF license as well completed a sea survival course. I am currently a member and qualified Keelboat instructor at the INSS sailing school/club in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland and I regularly sail every week with them and I race occasionally. Passages completed; 2700nm Lagoon delivery (450s) from Atlantic coast of France to Croatia, a delivery of a sigma 400 across the Irish sea and a 900nm trip from Ireland to Spain all as watch leader and various other offshore trips. I started sailing dinghies when I was 12 and I got into sailing yachts recently after a break of a few years. In my younger years I have worked as a cook in a kitchen so I am able to pitch in for cooking when the need arises. I am a Telecom's Consultant in my day job so I am technically minded, have a keen interest in the sea and also hold an advanced open water scuba diving qualification. It has always been a dream of mine to cross the Atlantic on a S/Y, even better if using a sextant. | |
