Experience: | 900 ocean miles / 3000 coastal miles |
I enjoy sailing, the outdoors, riding bicycles, discovering new music, archery, cooking, traveling around the world. I also do a lot of photography and videography that I post on my website here: https://www.nicholaswaton.com I started sailing in 2017 but fell in love with it and have logged more than 230 days on the water since, including a few trips, including a coastal passage from Vancouver to San Francisco with 5 days out in the Ocean. I am looking forward to exploring the world through sailing in the coming years. I have experience both as a skipper and as a crew (including racing). French-American, I grew up in Paris, France, and now live in the US, in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have the ASA certifications from 101 to 106 (Advanced Coastal Cruising). I have skippered boats up to 45 feet on multi-day trips. I sail almost every week on keelboats and dinghies (JY15, RS Quest, Laser) on the SF Bay. I spend time volunteering at the Cal Sailing Club in Berkeley, CA (USA). I have also done some racing as crew on a J/24, Express 27, and a Santana 35 (regular crew doing jib/spinnaker trimming). | |
