I’ve been sailing since I was a kid but have become super keen over the past 6/7 years - including cruising, inshore and offshore racing, and dinghy racing. I’ve done a number of seasons on the Solent in the Hamble winter series and Warsash spring series, including being part of a crew of 6 winning the Spring Series and Easter Challenge and doing a number of Cowes weeks and other regattas. Offshore experience includes many channel crossings and one Fastnet as part of a 6 person crew on 2 hour watches, and for which I also took on the responsibility of boat provisions. I’ve moved around the boat and am confident in all positions, including bow, jib and spinnaker trim, on helm and night watches. I have limited nav experience but have my Yachtmaster theory and am keen to learn more. I have moved around yachts and have recently downsized to double-handed dinghies to hone my trim and tactical skills. I’m keen to build on my offshore experience with more offshore racing and would love to do an ocean crossing. I’m fit, strong, calm in a crisis, and generally easy to get on with. | |
