I live near Sydney Australia and I have been sailing for over twenty years & I am passionate about it. I am never happier than when I am on the water. I have raced both inshore and offshore but I’m now at a stage in my life where I would much prefer cruising with good company. I have cruised around the east coast of Australia particularly the Great Barrier Reef and Whitsundays, the Louisiades in PNG, Borneo, Malaysia and Thailand and most recently in the Mediterranean. I have had the privilege of sailing in the Agean and Ionian Seas, Turkey, Crete and Corsica. I have undertaken 3 Kings Cups in Phuket; several Hamilton Island Race weeks; the Raja Muda on a number of occasions and the Phang Nga Bay rally as well as the Louisaddes Rally in PNG. I like to participate fully in all aspects of life on board a boat. My philosophy is that to maintain the right atmosphere on a boat all jobs should be shared depending on a person's abilities and interests. I love to cook -even in a storm as well calm conditions as I found out in the South China Sea!! and don't mind doing night watches. I have a reasonable knowledge of maintenance issues and know the difference between a spanner and a salad fork. I can easily entertain myself on longer passages with reading & music which I enjoy immensely. I'd like to think I am easy to get on with. I enjoy good company, humour, music and different types of food. I am 5' 6" tall or 165 centimetres, try to keep fit and have a positive disposition. I am single and financially independent and can supply references. I have a competent crew certificate, a Day Skipper licence, an ICC; a St John's first aid certificate a current (Australian) boat licence. | |
