Hello, My name is Mayra. I'm 22 years old. I was born in the Netherlands but grew up in Ireland, where I was introduced to the outdoor lifestyle. For a living, I am a professional superyacht crew on large sailboats. I've been doing this for a few years now and recently decided to take it seriously so I have started doing courses. I am currently studying and doing modules for my Officer of the Watch 2000tn. Sailing is a true passion of mine and working on large sailboats you don't always get that adventurous experience. I am looking to do long ocean passages to increase my sailing knowledge and experience. Along with that, I also need sea miles and being part of a smaller crew on smaller boats is my preferred way of doing that. I have many skills to bring on board. With 14,000+ nautical miles under my belt and after attending many courses recently (Yacht master 200 tn sail, GMDSS GOC, etc etc) i feel that I can be a huge asset to any crew. I'm very confident to stand solo watches and I'm always the first to jump on the to assist with anything, day and night. I enjoy working on superyachts but my feet are starting to itch again to have a real adventure. I enjoy learning from others and sharing the experience. | |
