MCA/RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (Sail), Commercially Endorsed MCA STCW Basic Training Proficiency in Security Awareness RYA Short Range Radio RYA Radar Course RYA Diesel Engine Course RYA Powerboat Level 2 RYA Personal Water Craft Proficiency MCA Approved Engine Course 1 MCA Efficient Deck Hand Personal Profile I am a mature individual with over 12 years experience as a mechanical engineer, field based as well as office-related projects. As an enthusiastic, passionate racing sailor I gathered experience racing 18-footer skiffs in Europe, racing yachts on lakes in Switzerland and offshore racing in the Mediterranean. I am a practical person who is a specialist in diagnostics and skilled in improvising solutions. As a pure engineer I am methodical and a precise thinker, calm and I cope well under pressure and stress. I have experience of dealing with conflicting situations, I am trustworthy, reliable, honest. I have integrity and am a good listener. In my previous careers I held many different areas of expertise, such as project leader, chief design engineer, team leader, field and service engineer for testing and measurement, computational engineer (FEM-Analysis), design engineer for new solutions and concepts, to abstract and isolate Problems. I was leading engineering projects up to 2500kEUR, working with groups of up to 12 people interdisciplinarily and across locations (international). My exceptional analysing capabilities always helped me to deliver extraordinary results and patents. I am looking forward to applying and developing my experience in the yachting industry and excited at the prospect of new challenges within the industry. Today, I am working on SY Cambria 1928, employed as a sole engineer. We do cruising and racing in the Mediterranean Sea. Interests I love sail racing. I like to be challenged. The tense atmosphere and the constant pressure during the whole day fascinates me very much. I love to get instant response to my actions and decisions in comparison to the competitors.
