I am a Licensed Paramedic who worked for a 911 system in the U.S for 8 years. I recently decided to take my paramedic self to the seas! I went to Gibraltar and took PB2, comp crew, day skipper, VHF radio, food safety, and various other courses to launch myself into a new career. Until a few weeks ago I didn't know that there were names for different parts of a sail! Now I can tie a few handy knots, tack, gybe, anchor, moor, berth, etc. I am green but am a quick learner and because of my lack of experience am willing to start at the bottom. I am currently enrolled in the online theory for Yachtmaster coastal/offshore and am looking for a few voyages I can volunteer on to boost my experience and network. I am single, kids are grown, fit, fun, and ready for off. I have done numerous DIY projects including wiring, plumbing, tiling, woodworking, basic welding...built a workshop from the ground up including making my own roof trusses. I'm my Dad's daughter and will try my hand at just about anything. I'll be the first one to laugh at myself if things go wrong but will always try again! I have current U.S and UK passports with EU residency in Portugal and I'm COVID vaccinated. I have always had the travel bug; I have been to all 50 U.S states and various countries. My goal is to step foot on every continent, what better way than by joining the boating community! I'm also working towards my SCUBA Divemaster, I just earned my Rescue Diver Certification and am taking the Diver Medic Technician course in Plymouth in 2 weeks. | |
