Nationality: Ireland
Currently based in: Peniche, Portugal
Looking for: Worldwide opportunities
Experience: 0 ocean miles / 1000 coastal miles
Bought a Miura 31 sailboat in Canada, and rebuilt her with my friend from May 2018-October 2019. Had planned on doing the BajaHaha rally to Mexico, October 19, but we missed the weather window to sail south. We postponed the trip to September 2020 but Covid scuppered that plan. Currently doing my Yachtmaster Offshore course, and looking to add some miles and gain valuable experience, as I aim to start a career in sailing. My background in sailing is learning on dinghies as a kid, coastal yacht racing with my family on the west coast of Ireland throughout my teens, local sailing of my boat around Vancouver the past couple of years, and the festival of sails in Victoria, Australia 2020. Happy to help out with the general maintenance (electrical, plumbing, fibreglass work, anti-fouling) of the boat pre-trip or any problems that come up on trip. I've spent my early twenties working on or under boats, just haven't made any time to sail them!
