I have been sailing since the age of 10 and have been the owner of 5 sailing boats. I currently own a Grand Soleil 46LC. I have experience of both racing and cruising. I have participated in the Rolex Middle Sea Race on 6 occasions as well as many races from Malta to Sicily and around Malta. Some as Skipper others as senior members of the crew. I have also sailed and raced in the Caribbean. I have skippered my own boats on long cruises such as Marseille to Malta along the French Riviera and the West Coast of Italy and another time from Genova down to Malta, both of 6 weeks duration. I have cruised in the Ionian Islands on my Grand Soleil, crossing from Malta, most recently in 2023 for 5 weeks. I have not kept a log but would estimate over 15,000 nautical miles of sailing. I obtained the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (Sailing) in 2024. My background is the software sector and I am therefore pretty handy with electronics, although not so much fixing stuff. Crossing the Atlantic, particularly on the ARC, has been my dream. I am also happy to participate in the delivery of the boat for an ARC. I am pretty much retired and therefore have flexibility for time and timings.
