Summary:
Enthusiastic sailor with over 40 year’s experience sailing vessels from 12’ dinghies to 52’ Yawls. Most experience on San Francisco Bay where we owned a 27’ Catalina for over 15 years. Looking to build offshore experience prior to taking delivery of our new catamaran next year. Ready to help with boat maintenance, repairs, rigging, cooking and cleaning as well as sailing duties.
Experience:
1984-1990: Lake sailing in the Midwest skippering 12’ Butterfly scow and 20’ C-Scow
1990-2000: Occasional crew on friend’s yachts while we started a young family
2000-2017: Owned and refitted a Catalina 27 sloop on San Francisco Bay. Complete refit of the boat including running rigging led aft for single handed sailing. Logged hundreds of hours sailing single handed on San Francisco Bay.
2012-present: Crewed on board Bounty, a 52’ wooden yawl for day sails and racing in the San Francisco area. Occasional crewing on other friend’s sailboats on the bay.
Personal information:
Retired, married, father of two. Sixty years old, fit, social drinker, nonsmoker and omnivore. 5’6”, 155 pounds. PhD in biochemistry; worked in the biotech industry developing cardiovascular and cancer drugs for over 25 years.
