I am a RYA Yachtmaster which was commercially endorsed for 10 years (now expired). I completed the ARC in 1993 as Watch Leader, and for the next 24 years skippered for holidays / corporate events on a variety of monohulls and catamarans until leaving work at the end of 2017. In 2013 My wife and I sailed from the UK to the Canaries, and in 2018 from Durban South Africa to the Caribbean via Namibia, Saint Helena and Brazil, and then up to Bermuda (as crew of 4 keeping individual watches). In 2019 we sailed from the UK to the Canaries and onwards to Saint Lucia as part of the ARC. In 2020 we commenced the World ARC (3 on board standing individual watches) and sailed from Saint Lucia to Tahiti via Colombia, Panama and the Galápagos Islands. After lockdown was lifted we cruised the Tuamotus and Society Islands before returning to the UK in August 2020. In November 2020 I assisted an owner take delivery of a new Outremer 51 in Montpellier, undertook a 4 day systems / technical handover course with Outremer, and then sailed her to the Canary Islands. In October 2021 my wife and I returned to Tahiti and sailed to New Zealand on a Discovery 67, rejoining her in June 2022 to sail from NZ to Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Australia. Although I have been a skipper for the majority of my sailing years, I am very happy sailing as crew as is my wife. https://youtube.com/@sailing.adventure?si=wO-zKnMUiEqCFpr1
