Fit and healthy, non smoker, enjoy social drinks but not when sailing. Do not take any drugs or medication, prescribed, over the counter or illegal. On big voyages I get seasick after 24 hours, for about 24r hours. It never interfered with my duties. I am vaccinated for Covid x4, and the Flu. I am really a registered nurse by trade, doing contract work. I also work on films productions either as a nurse, covid safety supervisor, or as marine coordinator. I have a Dutch passport, but living in Australia since 1981. I speak a little French and German, but really out of practice with these languages., Can sail any boat, biggest I have sailed is 63 ft., can navigate either by GPS/plotter or DR, not very good at celestial navigation. On occasions I crew a racing boat, but not really into racing. Sailed about half of the Oz coast, Cocos islands and New Caledonia. Am also a sea rescue skipper and trainer of sea rescue skippers, teaching seamanship and navigation. I am also an accredited keelboat instructor with Australia Sailing, and a power boat instructor, but l Iet the latter lapse. Can repair or fix most things on a boat: engine, electrics, plumbing, fibre glassing, ropes, rigging. Do on occasions boat deliveries. My partner is also a nurse and at times accompanies me on trips, but she is not a sailor but a great cook. She does stand an watch though if the conditions are benign. | |
