After retirement from work as a mechanical engineer I started sailing in 2022 in Croatia. Since then, I did sail around the Canarian islands and was part of a boat delivery to the ARC2023 (including night watches). In February I got my RYA Day Skipper followed by a few weeks of sailing in the Mediterranean Sea (Croatia, Greece, Italy) and a recent delivery from Spain to Greece. So far, my biggest interest had been in cycling, swimming and freediving. I like to cook and due to my profession have profound technical knowledge. With diesel and Otto engines I am quite familiar. Now I would like to gain more experience and millage to enable myself to take on the RYA Coastal Skipper qualification. During my professional life I was working for an international operating company with a worldwide customer base. Meeting people from different cultures, ideally open-minded with a good sense of humor is something I have enjoyed over the last 30 years and I think sailing is a good opportunity to continue doing and enjoying that. | |
