| Avid sailor with 30+ years experience, certified up to my CYA Offshore Cruising standard including Coastal Navigation, and Marine Diesel and Electronics courses. Looking to get more offshore experience before we set sail on a family sabbatical in a couple of years. Most of my sailing experience has been chartering boats up to 45' (monohulls and catamarans) in the Caribbean and West Coast of Canada for trips up to one month in duration in the role of Captain with my family as crew. We recently bought a Jeanneau 44DS based in Vancouver. I am a mechanical engineer with an MBA, married with 2 teenagers. Easy going, calm under pressure, fit and healthy and reasonably competent in the galley. In my spare time I typically do multi day adventure trips, including sailing, backcountry motorcycle trips and sea and whitewater kayaking in remote locations. | |
