I’m taking a year off before going to study engineering at university to sail. I play guitar and paint and am very interested in learning how to fix things that go wrong on boats. I’m English, but have lived in Switzerland since I was 10, and then spent several years at a boarding school, so know how to live in a confined space with others. I’ve sailed in dinghies on and off for my whole life, including racing 420s with my brother, but have just got more into cruising. I recently sailed with a Norwegian family from Ulsteinvik, Norway to Arklow, Ireland and did my day skipper practical in Cork. I went on to sail from Cascais to Gran Canaria on a Oyster Lightwave 48 with a family with three young children and did solo night watches. Most recently, I crossed the Atlantic as part of a crew of seven on a Bowman 53 and am in Antigua, looking to join a boat cruising the Caribbean or going through the Panama Canal. I am willing to learn any skills I’m lacking. I also shared cooking on each boat, and am happy to do my share of all the tasks on board.
