I am a life-long sailor and I currently own my own 25 foot Pearson which I sail on Lake Champlain in Vermont (USA). I have lived aboard, crewed and been paid crew. I've done a delivery from Trinidad to USVI and from St. Barts to USVI. I had the pleasure of crewing on a boat from St. John, VI to Puerto Rico, and I raced a 50 ketch in the Court Series in the the BVI, (big time racing with former America's Cup captains). As a youngster, I became comfortable with sailing at age 4. At age 13, I sailed with my parents, down the intracoastal waterway from Annapolis, Maryland to Miami, Florida, a six week journey where we experience a minor hurricane and were rescued by the Coast Guard. We also sailed across Lake Ontario many times while living in the Toronto area. Lake Ontario is large enough that when in the center, you can not see land. There are sometimes very large swells to deal with. I am comfortable reading charts and sailing with a compass and the stars. My strength is at the helm since I have done this since childhood. I am a natural at finding the best wind and course for top speed or efficiency. I am also an observant sailer when it comes to watching the sky for weather and watching for ships at night. I love swimming and snorkeling, have been a windsurfing instructor in the Virgin Islands and am still athletic and energetic for a woman my age... 67! I would welcome the opportunity for a new adventure, am an avid photographer and would like to perhaps create book or blog about a new sailing experience. The top of my bucket list is to sail in the Mediterranean.
