David Faries, male, 53

Ref 51097

Nationality: United Kingdom
Currently based in: London , United Kingdom
Looking for: Caribbean; Western Europe & North Atlantic Islands;
Experience: 480 ocean miles / 2400 coastal miles
Seeking crew/watch leader position on ARC 2023. I am a reliable, enthusiastic, proficient coastal sailor and boat owner with cruising and racing experience as a Skipper, Watch Leader or crew member, gained mainly around the East and South Coast of England. Further afield, I have chartered for 10+ years in Greece, Croatia and Turkey, completed a number of channel crossings, and sailed across Biscay in 2020. I have been a member of Medway Yacht Club for c.15 years, from where my wife and I sail our Hunter Horizon 26 most weekends in the Summer. I currently hold RYA Day Skipper, First Aid, VHF Radio and PB2. I intend to complete Yachtmaster theory and Coastal Skipper practical in the Summer. Just as important, I am a fit ex rugby player and rower with a good sense of humour and who enjoys life most when I am working or socialising as part of a team or crew. A career break (currently a Bursar at a leading independent prep school) commencing in early July, gives me the time and opportunity to fulfil a life long ambition of sailing across the Atlantic.
