Hello - I am an easy going fit 68 year old life long coastal sailor from Boston. I am married with one adult daughter and taking advantage of my new retirement years to spend more time on the ocean sailing. I have enjoyed crewing many round the clock non stop deliveries of monohulls and catamarans, but I am now a bit more interested in a trip that will spend a least a day in a few of the islands I sailed by while on watch at 3 AM :) I always enjoy the comradely of deliveries and have made several new lifelong friends. SAILING BACKGROUND: Coastal Cruising in New England for 30 years. Sailed thousands of coastal miles up and down the East Coast from Maine to Florida I have captained or crewed on mono hulls from 24' - 50' - Crewed on two deliveries of a 40' sailboat from the Caribbean -> Bahamas-> Florida. Bare boated in the BVIs. Crewed Antigua race week on a 50' mono. I enjoy standing watches solo or watch captain and navigating. SAILING GOALS: I enjoy offshore opportunities particularly in the Caribbean and the Bahamas. I would like to get some additional experience with catamarans (as well as mono) and improve my weather window prediction skills. I recently retired so now have lots of time for deliveries and lay overs in nice places. I am also looking to upgrade my USCG tonnage rating on larger boats. SAILING COURSES: ASA 101, 103, 104. Red Cross First Aid and CPR course. As a retired electrical engineer, I am pretty good at troubleshooting boat issues especially electrical. These skills have come in handy on at least two deliveries of brand new boats that had issues.
