| I have sailed in various forms since age 16, I did RYA1+2 dinghy about 10 years ago and after a break for a few years then owned and raced a Nacra 16 beach catamaran whilst living in Dubai and working as an A380 Captain for Emirates since 2015 until being made redundant due to covid in 2020. I sailed for 1 week on an Oceanis 46.1 from Athens in 2019 and then completed Day skipper practical on the Atlantic coast of Spain having previously passed the theory. I also hold the RYA VHF SRC licence. I have also crewed on race keel boats from Dubai Offshore Sailing Club, including a trimaran and Synergy 1000 high performance keel boat. In summer 2021 I spent just over 2 weeks in Seychelles, the first week as skipper of a Lagoon 380 and last 8 days as skipper of a Lagoon 42. In November - December I passed RYA Coastal Skipper theory and then practical sailing out of Largs on the West Coast of Scotland, with a lot of night sailing during the course. I am looking to gain hours and experience towards hopefully eventually obtaining Yachtmaster Ocean. At present I have about 600 miles at sea in keel boats and ocean going catamarans. | |
