Ref 46107

Nationality: United States
Currently based in: St. George's, Grenada
Looking for: Caribbean; South America; South Pacific Islands; West Africa & South Atlantic Islands; Western Europe & North Atlantic Islands; Antarctica & Sub-Antarctic Islands;
Experience: 8000 ocean miles / 5000 coastal miles
We are a husband and wife couple, both US citizens, who have cruised full time aboard our Island Packet 35 sailboat for the past six years. We are looking for crew opportunities that would use both of us; my wife's profile is under Beth Whitney. WE ARE FULLY VACCINATED AGAINST COVID 19 and will maintain that status. We are currently aboard our sailboat and berthed in Grenada. We were into our circumnavigation when COVID hit, and global travel restrictions have kept us in the eastern Caribbean. We miss offshore sailing and want to stay proficient while we wait to pick our journey back up. We have sailed in excess of 13,000 nm. We have an Atlantic crossing, having sailed direct from Grenada to Horta, Azores. We have also sailed offshore throughout the Bahamas, Cuba, and the eastern Caribbean islands down to Grenada. We have extensive offshore experience along the US east coast from New England to the Florida Keys. We are Full Members of the Ocean Cruising Club and Ocean Class members of the Salty Dawg Sailing Association. We have completed numerous offshore and safety training courses from the ASA, RYA, and ISAF (Word Sailing). We have also had training in diesel engine repair, and Beth worked professionally in a sail loft. We are fully kitted personally for offshore passages, including offshore PFDs with harnesses, tethers, and attached PLB’s and personal AIS’s. We can provide our own Iridium satellite phone, Iridium GO, and Garmin InReach for redundancy. We would bring our iPad Pro which contains a full navigation suite (Navionics and US NOAA charts), weather suite (PredictWind, Chris Parker, and OCENS products), and communications suite (via the Iridium satellite phone and GO).
