| Hello! I have over 40 years experience of sailing and have logged 15,000 cruising miles including at least 11 English Channel crossings (4 of them solo). I have also sailed non stop from Plymouth to La Rochelle which is over 330Nm and had 3 nights at sea so I am comfortable with longer distances. My total nights passage is around 40 and I was last seasick over 10 years ago so am excited to have the opportunity to build my ocean miles. I completed my practical Yacht Master Offshore successfully 3 years ago and also completed the Ocean master theory course last year. I own a 35ft Dufour and we sail about 1,500 miles a year as a family of 5 as far as Amsterdam, Scillies and La Rochelle. I have an ambition to sail around the world in 10 or so years time and I want to build ocean experience as part of this preparation. My skills are - mending stuff and always finding a solution, steering, cooking, watches and anything else that needs doing as pretty easy going. I am fit, able and and never give up! Through my boat ownership for the last 30 years I also have reasonable skills in marine diesel engines, 12v systems and wiring, marine navigational systems as well as operating Chartplotters and Radar. | |
