Owner of Canadian and Belgian passport and citizenship . Retired lieutenant-commander (recon - EOD diver), ex member of the Cousteau team, member of the Explorers Club, national Geographic photographer. Military, recreational and commercial diving instructor, I have been sailing around the world starting in 2008 until May 2019 on my own 13 meters (45ft) aluminium Catamaran " Bonobo" ( sold in May 2019 after the passing away of my beloved wife) Recreational: 4 ARC Atlantic crossing, 1 ARC Europe, Panama canal crossing, 1 Pacific crossing, 2 Tahiti -Fiji passages, all as skipper. I can be your skipper (French / Belgian recreational skipper licence), keep watch or kook meals. Important ! As Navy officer I do NOT have a commercial captain licence! I can command an frigate full off missiles or a submarine but NOT accept salary to sail you across any waters ! I’m familiar with navigation on paper and electronic chards, I’m a good kook (This is what people say at least …) and don't mind doing the dishes but II don't dry them LOL . Use a SSB and VHF radio (Licensed), I’m certified in survival at sea and emergency fire fighting on offshore platforms. I dive and teach diving, do underwater work, maintain dive equipment, land and underwater photography and video. I'm familiar with most of the things to do on board of a sail or motor cruising vessel including take care of the vessel in port or marina when you are home, during hurricane season or other trips. I have visited many countries (93) many with my own yacht so I can help with paperwork, administrative problems; know the (good) food stores, Fuel stations and local uses and customs in the Atlantic, Caribbean and Pacific. I’m ready to fly anywhere over the world for an exciting voyage and adventurous journey. Financial self-sufficient, I prefer a vessel with no restricted budget. I’m willing to participate in the cost of food and drinks, other costs to be discussed. Do not hesitate to request CV or more information! | |
