We are seeking new horizons and learning experiences. My wife Betty and I are looking to build passage experience. We will be crewing on an HR 46 on six legs of the World ARC 2023. We live in Canada and love the adventure of sailing. Before covid, we spent five weeks in the Bahamas crewing on a Hunter 45 with an excellent captain. We spent the five weeks traveling from Nassau to Georgetown and back. We loved the Exumas. We have sailed our 1973 C&C 30, S.V. Raven, here in Ontario for the past six years. Betty and I have been married for 35 years; we are both retired and fully vaccinated with boosters. We have traveled to the U.S.A, Ireland, UK, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Belize. We are both wilderness canoe trippers and hikers having spent over three hundred nights camping in the remote wilderness of Canada. Betty worked as a Recreational Therapist for over thirty years at our local hospitals. I have had three careers. I worked as a professional photographer for over twenty years, I worked with youth at risk in a wilderness program for five and finished with thirteen years working in industrial maintenance, health and safety, and support. We are easy to get along with and like to meet new people and explore the lands and cultures we have traveled. Betty enjoys cooking and is experienced in provisioning while cruising in the Bahamas. I enjoy working on sailboats. I am a problem solver with hands-on experience in most sailboat systems, electrical, mechanical, fibreglass, and structural repairs. I have basic sailing and navigation skills and am a confident watchkeeper. We both love sailing and would like to gain more experience. Every day is a new adventure and an opportunity to learn.
