| I am a nineteen-year-old raised in Pennsylvania, USA and in the middle of my second semester of college as a theatre major. My passions though, lie in writing, music, and the water — so I would never be against bringing a guitar on board and joining or creating a crew band. I am a determined worker and I have a tendency to work better when I challenge myself so I can learn from it all, which is a big reason why I want to join specifically a sailing vessel that requires learning a more hands-on skillset. After spending my Senior year of high school as an exchange student to Norway: learning the language, climbing mountains and being on the fjord-coast, I have been itching to join a sailing crew and work. I love to cook, I live light and I like to keep my surroundings clean. I have been swimming on a team since I was three years old. I have also spent a lot of time on boats in my life, but they were all rowing vessels (mostly river/sea kayaks). A lot of what I have is passion without experience but I am desperate for that experience. I want to definitely use this to visit remote places and face challenges in learning to sail. I want to find a group of people that I can find true friendship with; I might be romanticizing a little, but I see an opportunity in sailing to find a party of people to become close with. I live in the present and I want a group of people to be around every day and share that with. I could leave at any moment for a job — though my professors would probably prefer if I waited until the end of the Spring Semester in early May. All in all: cold or warm, easy or difficult, I want to learn, I want to sail. | |
