Looking for help with/delivery the crossing west? This professional skipper/mate duo is here to support you! Introduction Hello! We are Bart and Susan, both professional sailors from the Netherlands who love life at sea. Bart (28) is an experienced sailor and sailing instructor who always combined his studies with sailing. He has a master's degree in engineering which could give an easy access to a well-paid office job but sailing draws him away from these shore-based opportunities. Susan (31) is a true surfer girl who grew up sailing. A couple of years ago she decided that surfing needed to make way a little so sailing could have a bigger role in her life. Having majored in English literature and linguistics, she now combines work at sea with work as a surf instructor and managing kids surf camps. We met working on a 72ft sailing ketch which operates in the North Sea providing offshore research and monitoring service. Bart is currently based in Scheveningen working in a chandlery and doing a third season on a 33ft racer as bowman. Susan is working on a sail charter on the Baltic Sea from August to mid October. After Christmas we are heading to the Caribbean for work, as the European waters will be cold and quiet in winter. We are available to support any boat owner in making a well-prepared and safe voyage from Europe to the other sunny side of the Atlantic ocean. Deliveries to the Canary Islands are also possible in the period before Christmas. We know that an Atlantic crossing comes with an extended process of preparations, especially if it’s your first. We are available to support any boat owner in making a prepared and safe voyage from Europe to the other side of the pond. Repairs, provisioning, safety inspections, watches, cooking, weather routing, you name it. We have experience with it. Bart has done the Atlantic crossing twice. One with the ARC January 2023 fleet as co-skipper. A ship is as seaworthy as her crew, is a dutch saying. Are you looking to strengthen your crew by taking professionals onboard which can ease your mind? In that case, we are probably a good match. We can be a little strict on safety but besides that having a good time is our next priority! Sailing experience & qualifications Bart He is expanding his abilities and knowledge in the field of offshore commercial sailing and racing. He sailed just over 14.000 miles in the past five years. The majority of the miles are sailed on boats in the range of 30-55 feet. His most recent crossing was Antigua to Gibraltar via Horta. He was part of the nautical crew on a 177ft steel sailing ship with passengers. Roles have varied from deck crew to skipper on charters. Second last crossing was Cascais to Saint Lucia via Las Palmas being the co-skipper on a 56ft performance cruiser participating in the ARC January. Susan Spent most of youth sailing with family on 31ft yacht. Rekindled her love for sailing in recent years.
