Experience: 4000 ocean miles / 2000 coastal miles
Currently, I am in Ireland, renovating a house in Co. Clare. I'm hoping this will enable me to buy a sail boat and live on it in the near future. Also, Furthermore, I'd like to do a second Atlantic crossing soon, building experience to obtain a commercial yacht masters license. In terms of open ocean sailing, I completed an Atlantic crossing from las Palmas to Tortola. it took 20 days, it was all downwind sailing with the typical easterly trades. Very enjoyable trip. Also, I sailed from Eastbourne in the UK to La Coruna and Portugal, although I was the only Irish Paddy :) on board we all got along splendidly. We sailed on a Doufeux 42. We left from Eastbourne and arrived in La Coruna after 4 and half days, then on to Portugal making many stops along the North and West coast of Spain. I sailed from Costa Rica to Ecuador on a 42ft Gib Sea. In total I spent 6 weeks on the boat (Amigo) with the longest spell at sea being a week while doing a straight hop from the South of Costa Rica to Bahia De Caraques, Ecuador. It was a very enjoyable time. I enjoy song writing and singing, hiking, surfing, sailing, yoga, and reading. Furthermore, I like to cook and as it happens, eat. :) References available by request. I am an easy going person who feels at home on the sea. Fair winds, andrewhassett150atgmail.com
