[ Cancelled ] World ARC Ecuador to French Polynesia ref 8848
K Rush wants 2 crew for Libeccio, Leopard 44, 13m.
From Galapagos, Ecuador to , French Polynesia.
February 2018 to March 2018.
My wife and I are participating in the World ARC and are looking for 2 crew to join us on the leg from the Galapagos to the Marquesas- approximately 3,100 nm. Depending upon winds this could take 3 - 4 weeks on our 44 foot Leopard catamaran. Potential crew should have open water experience, be comfortable standing solo night watches and be prepared to participate in the running of the boat. This would include familiarity with chart plotters, radar, AIS, and use of VHF. Ideally, some experience in sailing a catamaran would also be useful. With the passage being so long, we are looking for easy going, positive individuals who are fun to be with. The boat is non-smoking and while we enjoy our G & T's when at anchor, the boat is "dry" (i.e. no alcohol) while on passage. Our objective is to enjoy ourselves along the way. My wife and I are experienced sailors, having started sailing in our teens and bought this boat 4 years ago when we retired. Since then we have sailed from the UK, through the Strait of Gibraltar to Turkey and then returned to the Canary Islands. We crossed the Atlantic with the ARC in 2014 and have been cruising the Caribbean since then.
What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader

I'm looking for (gender): either
Cabins/Sleeping : own cabin-own bunk

Total people on board: 4
Crew roles: We have a rota that we have used in previous passages that splits the running of the boat into a daily schedule and we all share in these tasks that include cooking, cleaning and maintenance (as needed during the passage). We think that this ensures the work is split evenly amoungst the whole crew. We are not the best at fishing so additional expertise would be welcomed as would be any aspiring chefs.
