[ closed ] Western Caribbean Bulgaria to Mexico ref 13892

wants 1 crew for Bat HaYam, Leopard, m.

From , Bulgaria to Isla Mujeres, Mexico.

January 2023 to May 2023.

Captain will set sail from Isla Mujeres and coastal cruise the Western Caribbean. A crew member my join for some weeks at any of the good crew change locations: Cancun, Belize City, Rio Dolce, Roatan, Cayman Islands, San Andres islands, Lima (Costa Rica), multiple location in Panama. (We are not cruising the coast of Nicaragua nor Honduras.) Rendezvous with crew is flexible. Cruising schedule is flexible. Captain would like a test week: "Do we get along?" Share cruising costs: diesel, water, trash; food. Captain maintains the boat. Mostly coastal, with multi-day crossings to Cayman Islands, to and from San Andres Islands. Along the way, friends and family will join the crew at unpredictable locations and times. The boat has four cabins and four heads. Sleeps eight, but it would feel crowded with more than six on board.

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): does not matter

Sailing with a Rally: None

I'm looking for (gender): either

Cabins/Sleeping : own cabin-own bunk

Smoking on board: smoking allowed

Total people on board: 2-6

Crew roles: Compatible person, no drugs, smoking tobacco accepted, strong and resilient. Couple is OK. If needed, captain can train green crew. This is an opportunity to sail in really beautiful places. The pace is slow. We are "leisure sailors" and the important things are: comfort, safety, enjoyment. We fish and we snorkel. We swim. We hike. We have a tandem kayak for bumping around bays. Dinghy is reliable (Captain thinks). We wait for good weather windows. We wait even days for good weather. We mostly anchor out, minimal marina visit. We fish for food and often catch. We don't drink alcohol when the boat is moving. Crew will share all duties, including preparing to sail, hoist and manage sails, anchoring, docking; cooking and cleaning (including heads). Scheduling and locations are not well-determined - very flexible. The boat will be ready to sail 1.Jan.2023 (unless disasters happen). Direct cruising costs are shared: diesel fuel, water, trash, mooring or docking fees. Captain is serious about safety and can engage local coast guard if needed. Interested? Contact Captain with questions.

Money: expenses shared equally

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
