[ Cancelled ] Volvo 70 | Antigua to Portsmouth (UK) Antigua & Barbuda to United Kingdom ref 11752

Kraken Travel wants 6 crew for Kraken (ex-Telefonica Black), Volvo Open 70 (gen 2), m.

From Falmouth, Antigua & Barbuda to Portsmouth, United Kingdom.

May 2020 to May 2020.

Experience the thrill of sailing on a high-performance Volvo Open 70 in the Atlantic Ocean from Antigua to Portsmouth (UK) via the Azores, while honing your skills and building over 3,600 nautical miles in the process. These trips are for everyone, whether you are a novice or experienced sailor. You can get involved as much as you like, or you can sit back, enjoy the mid-Atlantic sail. During this epic adventure, you will have the opportunity to helm, trim, practice evolutions, passage plan, weather route and if you are a budding yacht master you can have the opportunity to skipper under the watchful eye of a Yachtmaster instructor. Best of all you’ll get at least 3,600 miles in your logbook. Don’t think this will be a luxury ride! Such a high-performance racing yacht does not come with many creature comforts. Cramped quarters, freeze-dried food and basic accommodation are the trade-off for a fast boat, many miles and the most exhilarating ride. We do it just as the elite ocean racers do so you truly get a genuine experience. Joining the yacht in Falmouth, Antigua, you’ll be introduced to the boat and professional crew. You’ll then be briefed and trained-up on all there is to know about sailing a Volvo 70 before heading out of the harbour and straight into the great Atlantic ocean. Once at sea, we’ll first of all head for the Azores for a quick stop before the final leg towards the UK. This is a fantastic ocean passage on an incredible yacht. You’ll gain some 3,500nms and a whole load of experience in process, crossing the Atlantic in a direction that few have (compared to the East-West route). Please allow between 14 and 20 days to complete this passage.
