September 2013 to November 2013.
Expedition will start in Honiara, Solomon Islands on 3rd September and be for 10 weeks in the Solomon Islands. Then we sail back to New Zealand - you can join either just expedition in Solomon Islands or join sail back. With us, you will be working with communities that have requested assistance from OceansWatch to help them manage their marine resources. We will be doing initial baseline surveys, ensuring buy-in from all stakeholders and exploring any sustainable livelihood projects that they may need assistance with. Crew roles: Person working on this position is required to have at least a degree in Developement Studies, Antropology or a similar related field. You will take a responsibility for creating Sustainable livelihood projects during the expedition. You will be a part of a crew which works with the communities to choose community MPA's and also to help to design MPA networks. Understanding Climate Change and Reef Resilience principals is important
