[ closed ] Trans-Atlantic Adventure: ARC+ 2018 via Cape Verdes Canary Islands to Saint Lucia ref 10085

Andy Budgen wants 1 crew for The Project, Sigma 38, 12m.
From Las Palmas, Canary Islands to Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia.
January 2018 to January 2018.
I'm an RYA certified Oceanmaster with over 30,000 ocean miles and multiple trans-Atlantic crossings as skipper on a 70ft racing yacht (Volvo 70). I am looking to have a fun crossing this year on my race/cruiser Sigma 38 with a nice group of people. I currently only have on place left! We will be taking the ARC+ route, starting in the Canaries, stopping to explore the Cape Verde islands for a few days on the way, and finishing in the beautiful island of St. Lucia. The Sigma 38 is in absolute tip top condition having been refitted over the last 15 years, making it comfortable and very safe. As I am a racer at heart, we will be looking to push the boat quite hard, as long as we feel that we are capable. The idea is to enjoy ourselves! I run a fairly laid back, but safe, approach to crossings and there will be very capable sailors on board.
What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): does not matter
Sailing with a Rally: Independent
I'm looking for (gender): either
Cabins/Sleeping : shared cabin-hot bunk
Smoking on board: smoking allowed
Total people on board: 6
Crew roles: The joining crew member can be involved with all aspects of offshore sailing during this voyage. I am not very concerned with sailing ability and will consider taking anyone from complete beginner. I have considerable experience with taking beginner sailors on offshore trips and am very happy to teach enthusiastic learners along the way! The cost for the trip will be £2,500.
Money: voyage cost $3300
Travel to and from boat: crew pays
