It is about 600nm as the crow flies from Stornoway to Plymouth – but why dash. We’ll spend a few days cruising amongst the wonderful islands of the Outer Hebrides first before setting off to sail south around the Mull of Kintyre and across the Irish Sea to Dublin. (36 hours). After a quick pit stop here for some Guinness we set off on the second long passage from Dublin around Lands End to Plymouth. (48 hours) Weather dependent as always, but with sensible weather the options are unlimited. We will be spoilt for choice with wilderness anchorages, However the route plans out you will gain miles for your log book and experience taking part in a watch system. You will get to feel the wind in your hair and the power of the sea as you take the helm and enjoy night sailing under the stars. Crew roles: This trip is great for gaining miles for your log book, participating in a watch routine and experiencing passages over 60 miles. There are plenty of opportunities to practice navigation and work out the tides as we pass between the islands of the inner Hebrides and around the Mull of Kintyre. This passage is ideal for milebuilding and experiencing sailing in more challenging conditions There will be a Proffesional skipper and Mate aboard to coach you.
