[ Cancelled ] South Pacific Odyssey Leg 8 French Polynesia to Tonga ref 3650

Dan Bower wants 6 crew for Skyelark of London, Skye 51, 16m.

From Tahiti, French Polynesia to vavau, Tonga.

July 2016 to August 2016.

Tahiti, Society Islands, Bora Bora, Suwarrow, Tonga Tahiti has become known as a typical South Seas island paradise. Whilst the main city of Papeete is bustling and well populated, the interior of the island is uninhabited, filled with jagged peaks and gorges all covered in lush tropical vegetation. Bora Bora has been known as the most beautiful island on earth. It has massive twin peaks which create a wonderful skyline, the anchorage sits within the surrounding barrier reef. We will work our way up through the island chain calling in at, Huahine, Raiatea, Tahaa and Bora Bora. All these island offer great hiking, cycling or chilling on the beach. We will then set sail for Suwarrow, for us a highlight and a true gem of the South Pacific. This atoll, only 9 miles by 11, became known as a dream destination for those seeking a remote island on which to escape civilization. Tom Neale from New Zealand wrote a book describing his stay there as a hermit in the 1950s. A most wonderful island paradise, abundant marine life including giant manta rays and reef sharks, this is a stop you won’t forget in a hurry. We conclude this leg in Vavu’a in Tonga which will take about a week from Suwarrow. Tonga offers a wonderful cruising ground, full of secluded anchorages amongst a plethora of islands. There should also be the amazing opportunity to try out swimming with the whales that visit here – not to be missed! £4200 Please email us for more information. http://skye51.com
