[ Cancelled ] Santa Cruz Galapagos to Marquesas Galapagos to French Polynesia ref 15053

Ludwig Hoogstoel wants 1 crew for Ataraxia, 2006 Etap 46ds, m.

From San Cristobal, Galapagos to Nuku Hiva, French Polynesia.

February 2025 to March 2025.

ATARAXIA is looking for 1 crew to join 3 experienced sailors from Galapagos to Marquesas. Intended departure in Galapagos is February 17th.

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader

Sailing with a Rally: Independent

I'm looking for (gender): male

Cabins/Sleeping : shared cabin-own bunk

Smoking on board: non-smokers only

Total people on board: 4

Crew roles: ATARAXIA currently has 3 experienced crew for this trip. We are looking to add 1 younger crew, preferably younger than 40 yo to 'balance out' our crew. Crew must be able to stand night watches alone. We feel that the best teacher is the sea, so time on the water will count more than certifications. Most of all though, there needs to be good compatibility with an international (US/Canadian/Belgian) crew, that values kindness, respect, and for whom outdoorsy endurance events seem to be a common denominator. Crew will need to fly in to Galapagos and out of Marquesas, which will mean connecting flights, and therefore flexible time schedule. Crew will be expected to rotate through watches (single person watches) and otherwise help in all matters to keep the boat going, well fed and clean. Mechanical or systems experience is always a plus. This leg in the Pacific is the longest stretch of a Pacific crossing (3000 nm) but at the same time one of the most unique experiences, combining Galapagos and Marquesas in one trip. Crew will need to pay for their own flights (and related personal expenses) but captain pays all passage costs for the boat.

Money: expenses shared equally

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
