From Sardinia, Italy to Santiago, Cape Verdes.

February 2024 to April 2024.

We need to transfer the Jacob (Topsail schooner 37m) to our base in the Cape Verde. It is our first trip with her, so we will take it slow, the work is diverse, so we also welcome less experienced sailors. We stopped in Sardinia, Italy and waiting for the right weather window to continue to Gibraltar.

Smoking on board: smoking allowed

Total people on board: 11

Crew roles: We need some additional crew to our present 9 crew members to transfer the schooner to West-Africa. It will be a demanding trip and will have to pick the right weather window. Please come without time schedule pressure. Also understand that a tall ship is not an up-sized version of a yacht - it has sails and swims in the water but this is where the similarities end! Experienced crew is preferred but we also have some places for for those seeking to learn the traditional arts of sailing a square rigged ship. The positions are unpaid. Food on board and all other ship related cost are covered by us.
