I am undertaking a long distant sailing odyssey around the world. Stella Polaris my Vancouver 32 is on island of Leros in the Aegean near Turkey. My next leg 1 is from Leros to Gibraltar with stop overs possibly in Malta or Sicily and possibly stop over in Spain. Approximate distance of 1600nm . However my next leg 2 afterwards will by from Gibraltar to the Canaries leg 3 to Cabo Verde islands and later legs down to the South Atlantic to transit the Magellan straits and across the Pacific Ocean. I’m looking for a single crew person who interested in solo and short handed sailing. I prefer someone who has some sailing experience so I can show them how to sail a cruising boat solo. I will critique each crew person on each leg of the voyage and get them to take on more responsibility so they can set up the boat themselves and take over as skipper, knowing I’ll be there to assist if required. I will also be undertaking non GPS navigation as well using sextant and time for sun sights and twilight star sights. Here again I’ll introduce celestial navigation to the crew person. I happy to take either a male or a female for each individual leg of my sailing odyssey.
