[ closed ] Sail training holidays in Cape Verde Cape Verdes to Cape Verdes ref 15275

Captn Steph wants 4 crew for Lohengrin, Joshua, m.

From Santiago, Cape Verdes to Santiago, Cape Verdes.

February 2025 to July 2025.

Excellent sail training opportunity in a beautiful lonely bay with three beaches where our small fleet is based. Clear warm water for snorkeling, lots of hiking in the valleys and mountains around it. Turtles, dolphins, sometime whales, mantas, beautiful birds, wild monkeys, donkeys in the unspoiled nature around it. Sail-training is mostly day or overnight sailing on the coast around our bay. The changing coastal winds provide for a challenging environment which demands a lot of maneuvering and will give a steep learning curve while at the same time its quite save with lot of bays on the lee coast always provide quick shelter and comfortable sailing without too much wind waves and none or only moderate swells. We do provide two meals a day and a bunk on any of our ships, Optionally we can also organize other forms of accommodation ashore (beach tent/cabin, hotel/private). Sail training is mostly practical, with some theory and also includes mast climbing, maintenance skills like rope splicing and small repairs. Contribution is negotiable and can be as low as shared cost for food and fuel if the trainees helps with the maintenance of the fleet.
