[ Cancelled ] Round the World sailing Greece to Greece ref 12418

Paul Chopin wants 2 crew for Corryvreckan , Bavaria 37 Cruiser, 11.3m.

From Kilada, Greece to Kilada, Greece.

January 2022 to January 2024.

The time has come to plan for the next long adventure, a circumnavigation starting July 2022. This was postponed from the previous year due to Covid and family matters. My yacht is currently in Kilada, Greece. The intention is to set sail from here some time late July (Covid restrictions should be less restrictive) and head for Gibraltar. I shall keep the boat here until the beginning of October so that I can get it all checked over before the Atlantic crossing. The passage will be aiming to get to Gran Canaria before the Arc boats arrive and then sail down to Cape Verde. From there we head west to St. Lucia. I'm not sure whether to stay here over Christmas or to continue towards San Blas. Either way, the next passage will be through the Panama canal, assisted by an agent I'm in contact with.. I do NOT intend sailing to the Galapagos as it is too expensive, but if crew are willing to share costs it will be considered. The next stop over will be in French Polynesia. Beyond here, the passage will be determined by the crew, weather and time. The yacht is kitted out for blue water sailing: a water maker, watt and sea generator, parasailor sail and hydrovane already installed. I shall also fit a bowsprit, top down furler with a further cruising chute and a SSB radio (SSB radio bought and course booked for mid April). This yacht, although considered to be a 'cruising' yacht, has already crossed the Atlantic in 2018 to the Caribbean and returned back across the Atlantic to Greece in 2019. I am seeking two persons to join me on this trip, each will have their own cabin, unless it's a couple, and then I might add a fourth person. All crew must be Day Skipper qualified as a minimum, and capable of standing a watch without supervision. It is vital that any person wanting to participate in the voyage must be a 'team player', prepared to join in with all / any task that is expected on a yacht. This is considered a 'recreational' voyage and all expenses will be shared equally between the sailing team. Costs to and from the yacht will be met by the individual crew member. I am setting up this opportunity now as I appreciate the need from all parties to have plenty of time to put things in place in order to undertake the passage. Crew can select when and where they would like to join / leave the yacht, but considerations will need to be understood of the legal / tourist requirements to those visiting / leaving countries. When under sail this is a DRY boat and NO SMOKING on board. DUE TO COVID AND PERSONAL FAMILY BEREAVEMENT I AM RESCHEDULING THIS TRIP TO NOW BEGIN IN JULY 2022. Apologies to all interested.
