[ closed ] Portugal to the Caribbean with ARC+ Portugal to Grenada ref 12933

wants 3 crew for Topaz Rival, Rival 36, m.

From Lagos , Portugal to Port Louis, Grenada.

August 2021 to December 2021.

Currently in Spain/Portugal waiting to sail down to the Canaries shortly to take part in the ARC+. Boat is a Rival 36 recently refitted to take part in the ARC. She will be one of the smallest boats in the rally so the target is to make sure we are not last to arrive. Skipper is 68-year-old Yachtmaster Offshore with more than 25,000 miles, who has crossed the Atlantic twice in each direction (W-E 2013 and E-W 2015, both with ARC rallies. Hoping for a crew of three or possibly four for the crossing. I also have a dog on board who has sailed more than 12,000 miles, a true sea dog.

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 2): does not matter

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 3): does not matter

Sailing with a Rally: None

I'm looking for (gender): either

Cabins/Sleeping : own cabin-own bunk

Smoking on board: non-smokers only

Total people on board: 4

Crew roles: Ideally a couple who could make best use of the comfortable forecabin. Any extra skills over and above sailing always useful such as being good at fixing things or medical knowledge. Most important thing is that we all get on well. Not expecting any problems but Trump and ardent Brexit supporters may find they are not agreed with! As we have the goal of not finishing last, some racing experience would be excellent - I’m not a racer by the way. Everybody will have to have been double vaccinated.

Money: expenses shared equally

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
