July 2015 to November 2015.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced High Latitude Skipper with ice experience and first mate to skipper our expedition yacht to circumnavigate the North Pole via the North East Passage (above Russia) and the North West Passage (above Canada). We are looking to achieve this in one Arctic Summer season to become the first British Yacht to circumnavigate the North Pole in one summer in an anticlockwise direction. There will be four legs sailing out from the UK. The first leg to Murmansk, Russia. The second leg is from Murmansk, Russia to Point Barrow, Alaska. The third leg is from Point Barrow, Alaska to Aasiaat, Greenland (the end point of this leg is still to be confirmed). The fourth leg will then be returning to the UK. The others individuals on the yacht will have been put through RYA competent crew sail training, as well as team building and yacht familiarization in advance of the trip. We are looking for Skippers and first mates for all four legs and would definitely consider skippers and first mates who were interested in doing all four legs.

Crew roles: We would like the skipper/s and first mate/s to be involved in preparation stages of the yacht so that we can help to ensure that the yacht is set up to their liking and that they are familiar with the yacht, it's set up and systems. We would also like the skipper/s and first mate/s to be involved with team building and yacht familiarisation with the other individuals who will be joining the yacht. During the trip in addition to sailing we would like the skipper/s and first mate/s to be responsible for maintenance, as well as being involved with cooking, navigation and other duties involved in undertaking a trip such as this.
